| Overview |
ARSENAL XPRESS is a knockdown and long residual control systemic herbicide for control of a wide range of weeds in a non crop situations. |
| Recommended Uses |
ARSENAL XPRESS is used for the control of various annual and perennial weeds in non-crop situations as indicated in the Directions For Use table. |
| Advantages |
Fewer repeat applications needed. |
| Benefits |
Savings in respect to application costs. |
| Mode of Action |
ARSENAL XPRESS Herbicide is a member of the imidazolinone and glycine groups of herbicides. ARSENAL Xpress has the inhibition of acetolactate synthase (ALS) and inhibition of EPSP modes of action. |
| Chemical Group |
glycine + imidazolinone |
| General Instructions |
Nufarm ARSENAL Xpress is an aqueous formulation of two active constituents which will kill a range of standing weeds and emerging seedlings. It stops growth rapidly, although symptoms may take over 30 days to develop. Affected plants are discoloured and often growth is distorted. The active material in ARSENAL Xpress is rapidly absorbed through foliage and translocated throughout plants. The active ingredient providing residual control (imazapyr) is also rapidly absorbed through roots, and translocated throughout plants.
For pre-emergence control, rain or irrigation after spraying is required to activate ARSENAL Xpress.
Where indicated in the "Rate" column, "Pre- or postemergence application", foliage treatments will provide pre-emergence control as the active material is released to the soil following plant decay. Application should give 6 months effective weed control. Residual control will be reduced by denser standing weed growth and higher amounts of ground cover.
Application Faster control of standing weeds will result if growing conditions are favourable at and after application. Rainfall within two hours of the spray mixture drying on leaves may result in reduced weed control.
Spraying Instructions For medium volume spraying, apply through a spray boom calibrated to ensure even coverage. Use spray nozzles suitable to prevent spray drift onto surrounding non-target vegetation.
For high volume application, use a hand gun or knapsack to apply sufficient spray to wet the surface visibly without producing run-off.
Mixing Pour the required amount of ARSENAL Xpress into a spray container which already holds the total amount of water required. Mix thoroughly. If ARSENAL Xpress is added during filling, foaming may occur. If excessive foaming is a problem, add a suitable antifoaming agent. Consult your distributor for specific information.
The product is corrosive to mild steel. Use ONLY stainless steel, fibreglass, plastic or plastic-lined containers for mixing, storage and application.
Equipment Clean-Up Thoroughly flush all spray equipment with water following the use of ARSENAL Xpress and before use with other products.
Compatibility For faster knockdown of weeds, certain other herbicides may be mixed with ARSENAL Xpress Herbicide. ARSENAL Xpress is compatible with glyphosate-based products. Bipyridyl herbicides (eg. paraquat) are NOT compatible with ARSENAL Xpress. Mixtures of this type will result in poor weed control.

| Restraints |
Do NOT apply by AIRCRAFT. |
| Resistance Warning |
Nufarm ARSENAL Xpress Herbicide is a member of the imidazolinone and glycine groups of herbicides. ARSENAL Xpress has the inhibition of acetolactate synthase (ALS) and inhibition of EPSP modes of action. For weed resistance management, ARSENAL Xpress is a Group B and M herbicide. Some naturally occurring weed biotypes resistant to ARSENAL Xpress and other Group B and M herbicides may exist through normal genetic variability in any weed population. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the weed population if these herbicides are used repeatedly. These resistant weeds will not be controlled by ARSENAL Xpress or other Group B and M herbicides. Since the occurrence of resistant weeds is difficult to detect prior to use, Nufarm Australia Ltd. accepts no liability for any losses that may result from the failure of ARSENAL Xpress to control resistant weeds. |
| Protection of wildlife, fish, crustaceans and environment |
Do NOT contaminate streams, rivers or waterways with the chemical or used containers. |
| Protection of crop, native and other non-target plants |
DO NOT apply under weather conditions, or from spraying equipment, that may cause spray to drift onto nearby susceptible plants/crops, cropping lands or pastures, or non-target aquatic areas. DO NOT apply on or near nontarget trees or other plants or in areas where their roots may extend, or in locations where the chemical may be washed or moved into contact with their roots. DO NOT apply where run-off water may flow onto agricultural land or other or other non-target vegetated areas. Dispose of washings away from non-target plants and their roots. |
| Safety Directions |
Avoid inhaling spray mist. Will irritate the eyes and skin. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. When preparing and using the prepared spray, wear elbow-length PVC gloves and face shield or goggles. After use and before eating, drinking or smoking, wash hands, arms and face thoroughly with soap and water. After each day's use, wash gloves, face shield or goggles and contaminated clothing. |

| Disposal |
5, 20, 200 L pack Triple or preferably pressure rinse containers before disposal. Add rinsings to spray tank. DO NOT dispose of undiluted chemicals on-site. If recycling, replace cap and return clean containers to recycler or designated collection point. If not recycling, break, crush or puncture and bury empty containers in a local authority landfill. If no landfill is available, bury the containers below 500 mm in a disposal pit specifically marked and set up for this purpose, clear of waterways, desirable vegetation and tree roots. Empty containers and product should NOT be burnt. 110 L pack DO NOT tamper with the Micro Matic valve or the security seal. DO NOT contaminate the Envirodrum with water or any foreign matter. After each use of the product, please ensure that the Micro Matic coupler, delivery system and hoses are disconnected, triple rinsed with clean water and drained accordingly. When the contents of the Envirodrum have been used, please return the empty Envirodrum to the point of purchase. The Envirodrum remains the property of Nufarm Australia Limited. |
